Beetlejuice - The Musical West Palm Beach Theatre reviews
It Was A Show About Death!
I wasn't sure what to expect as I didn't do much research about the stage version of Beetlejuice. I know it was successful on Broadway and that it was one of my favorite movies. My main mistake was agreeing to go with two people who had no idea what a musical was apparently ("why is there so much signing?"). And because of this we looked at cheaper tickets which put us in the Balcony area.
The show was amazing, 8.5/10 IMO. The actors/production/band knocked it out the park. It was cool to see how they brought in various elements from the movie while still having it's own identity for the stage. The songs, dialogue and the consistent breaking of the 4th wall made the show entertaining from start to finish.
One thing from a venue standpoint, while I did pay for the seats, the sound was not the best up in the Balcony area so it was hard at times to hear parts/pieces of songs since they could be moving so fast - so I kinda wish there was better acoustics throughout the venue to account for this. Live and learn.
In the end, I'd def. see it again if someone wanted to go - I'd just look to get better seats.
